Digital transformation of evidence-informed decision-making: enhancing gender-inclusive approaches for equitable social and health outcomes
Video
In this video, Pastan Lusiba, a senior research scientist at ACRES talks about the digital transformation of EIDM and enhancing gender-inclusive approaches to have equitable and health outcomes. The advent of digital technologies like machine learning, AI, and chatboxes (e.g., ChatGPT4.0) has revolutionised access to data and information, enabling faster and more scalable decision-making processes. Since 2020, interest in leveraging these tools for Evidence-Informed Decision Making (EIDM) has surged, but their application remains limited and often requires substantial user input. To address these challenges, ACRES and its partners Sunbird AI are implementing the Digital Gender – inclusive tools for evidence use project, aimed to design and explore digital gender-inclusive tools that augment EIDM approaches, such as the Rapid Response Service. This project seeks to enhance timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness for equitable social and health outcomes. Currently, we are in the process identification/mapping stage, where ACRES and Sunbird AI are collaboratively mapping the EIDM process, benchmarking against the Rapid Response Service process.
